Is there anything out there like CDDB but for DVD's? I use the following to store my media "\Movies - SD\Movie Title\Movie Title - (YEAR) Resolution VideoCodec AudioCodec.extension". ![]() Automated file name creation would be fantastic as well. The machine that will be handling encoding duties is a old i7-860, so realtime certainly is out of the question. I would love if I could load a DVD, it rips it, then adds it to a cue of encoding tasks. I realize this will be a time consuming task, but for the time being I'm a stay at home Dad, so I have the time to swap DVD's all day long, or at least as needed. Also, I'm not dead set on Handbrake, but it does seem to be the most recommended. I haven't found a good go-to combination. Sometimes it just looks like crap with macro blocking or interlace lines. Sometimes the file ends up larger than the original. ![]() I've played with Handbrake but I haven't found a great setting yet. In addition, more often than not I just want the movie to start and not dick around with the DVD menu. But, I don't need a 4-8gb ISO for every one of my DVD's. For the other 10%, I'll use DVD Shrink and just make an ISO of it and be done. I would guess that somewhere around 90% of my collection, I only care about the movie. ![]() I own them.) With SD DVD's, I'm finding the torrent doesn't exist or is piss poor quality. (This isn't to turn into a discussion of the legality of that method. As of recent, I buy the BluRay, then ultimately end up downloading a torrent that is already ripped. I have a hundred or two of my movies already on the NAS. Daddy wants a new sectional and the DVD racks have got to go to make that happen. I haven't touched 95% of them in years and they're taking up to much room in my living room. ![]() I have a few hundred DVD's that I want to put on my NAS so I can box them up and put them in storage. Yes, I realize best and easiest doesn't exactly always go hand in hand, which is why I've turned to the hive mind.
